Locked Out

I am locked out, of the truck.

I can honestly say this is probably only the 2nd time I have ever locked myself out of my vehicle.

Luckily I am at the best place possible for this to happen at – Starbucks. Coffee and wifi.

Sadly I don’t have my computer on me so I write this post from my iPhone using the WordPress app. (But yay for technology!)

Torrance always has his set of keys on him but he was meeting with a client for work and 45 minutes away.

So,I utilized my roadside plan again. I must say between this lockout and the hefty tow bill we had when driving down from AK to NC, I have definitely got my money’s worth out of the $75/yr plan I purchased in June.

I am waiting for the locksmith to come now which 40 mins ago I was told it would be an hour. The only reason I was a little extra stressed about this this morning is I was the only person that was able to open the office at 9 today so I had to call my boss to leave his meeting early and go open up. Oh well, he is very understanding which I am thankful for.

So backing up to this morning, I went on a lovely run with brown dog. It was so nice out and a little bit on the cooler side this morning so I figured I’d head outside instead of down to the gym. I put on my running shoes and leashed her up and on we went!

We did a couple laps around the apartment complex which came out to about 1.25 miles. Kona loves when we run she always gets rambunctious and runs ahead. She loves being out front.

Once I got ready and headed to starbucks I was already running a little behind because I typically like to be at the office by 8:45 and it was already 8:45 when I arrived at Starbucks. Geesh that’s probably why I left my keys in the truck because I forgot since I was already rushing around.

So while I sit and wait, I decided to buy these instant coffee packs to try so I dont risk being a ding dong and locking myself out before work again.

Looks like the locksmith is here so I am off to supervise this maneuver and get my ass to work!

When was the last time you locked yourself out of your vehicle? Where were you?

Or, have you locked yourself out of your house lately? How did you get in?

Luckily I have not done this maybe ever. Our new apartment only has deadbolts so you have to lock it from the outside so it is impossible to lock yourself out unless you just forget your keys somewhere outside of the house. I am sure they do that on purpose so people dont have to dispatch locksmiths or bother the leasing office of the apartment complex to come let them in!

  1. I locked myself out of my car while it was running once (stupid old Intrepid that wasn’t smart enough to know the car was running and shouldn’t lock)! Luckily I was only at my friends house about 10 minutes away so my all powerful dad had to come with the spare keys to unlock and let me in!

Hahaha last year I locked myself out of my car at a beach I was vacationing at. The front desk lady was nice enough to call AAA using her card. When the gy came he noticed the back door was unlocked. DER

Also last year I locked myself INSIDE the house! How does this happen? I had left my keys at work the night before and my boyfriend had locked up when he left before me for work the next morning… you only lock from the outside not the inside on that apartment. AHHHHHHHHH worst feeling EVER!
