“Fried” Chicken Fail
I was excited for dinner tonight for two reasons: 1) I have been wanting to try this “healthified fried chicken” recipe (which is actually breaded and baked, not fried) and 2) this….
Genius idea right? I seriously love corn.
Anyway, it turned out to be a semi-flop. The chicken…. just didnt cut it for me. I followed the recipe exactly but it just wasnt that good really to my taste. The mix of spices (which wasnt a lot) just had a sort of strange taste to me and rather than it being crispy it was crispy in a couple spots but soggy in others. I used drumsticks per the suggestion of the recipe. Overall, I probably wont attempt again. Anybody have any “fried” chicken recipes they like that you would be willing to share? 🙂
The rest of the dinner actually turned out delish! And that corn? Oh my gosh – so very good!
Also? My old friend, Stove Top Stuffing. So bad I know, but so good at the time. I somehow managed to only have a little (that rarely happens).
Oh and check out this pest hoping for something….anything.
After dinner I took the above mentioned pest out for a walk. I wasnt really feeling a workout because it was just sort of one of those days where I got stuck at work late and then when I got home got distracted by putting away laundry (yes from the weekend) and other various things. Oh well, another reason why it is nice to get that workout out of the way in the morning 😉
Kona forces me to at least get some sort of exercise for the day which is nice! After the mile walk with her I ended up doing a mini abs workout in the living room, ya know with all that
sad, empty open space?
I ran through a quick ab routine and also randomly threw in some squats. It got my heart racing and I felt a little better afterwards for not completely neglecting a workout!
Oh, and I didnt share my lunch today because I have a post coming about it tomorrow!! The lunch itself wasnt that exciting but I am excited about my lunchbox…..yes you heard that correctly. Like a little kid, it may be helping to rekindle my excitement for lunch like I once had.

Do you ever get workout guilt if you skip one?
Sometimes I do, and lately I have been because I am really trying to get into better shape!
