It Hurts So Good!
It is a little drizzly out this morning so I can say it is officially my first scarf-wearing day of the season! Yay!
The drizzly weather also resulted in a hot coffee this morning instead of my usual iced. I wasnt even going to go to Starbucks but when I woke up starving something needed to be done because we have absolutely NO food in the house! I was so exhausted last night I just had the last of the cereal for dinner and we are out of eggs and bananas. Those 3 items are key in any of my yummy breakfast choices. I still havent gone grocery shopping this week! With the furniture being moved Monday night and then my fitness evaluation last night, I just havent felt like going to the store.
So alongside my hot coffee I had my favorite Starbucks sandwich, the bacon, egg, and gouda.
So my fitness evaluation last night went really good! I am going to love this “program” (he never calls it a class). Essentially, it is similar to a CrossFit program. It is going to be a marvelous love/hate relationship 🙂 Kidding, I am really going to like it!
When I first arrived he took my measurements, weight, went over goals, etc and told me I would be participating in the group class today and being my first day he would write notes and evaluate me. I was put on the spot kind of because everyone was told I was the newbie, haha. There were 10 other people there and a couple of them told me their first day was really hard.
We did a mixture of things between 11 stations including variations of squats, lunges, pullups, a few moves with resistance bands, mountain climbers with slider discs (ugh), and other things using kettle bells, etc. It was really good but I actually did have to stop twice to take a breather. We went through each station one after another. The frist two rotations we did each station for 30 seconds and then the last rotation was 25 seconds and then a break then another 25 seconds.
When we were done, iw ill be honest I was completely exhausted but felt like I had gotten a really, really good full body workout. We went over his notes and he said he noticed a few things specifically about my range of movement when it comes to my hips and also my squats. He said I have a lot of strength in my quads which causes me to set forward when doing squat movements so he said he will work with me on getting proper form like that.
And when I woke up this morning, the soreness was there. In a good way. He said he would like to see me 2-3 times per week, and I will be going in again tomorrow night as well!
I have a busy day of work ahead of me and then I must stock up the kitchen after work today 😉
Have great day!
Have you ever done a CrossFit type program? Did you enjoy it?
Have you pulled out your scarves and boots for fall yet?! 🙂
