A Day Of Normal

I’m happy to report yesterday was a regular day and it didnt involve any “serious” life lessons.

Phew, to feel normal again!

Last night I headed off to fitness class and was pleasantly surprised we did a lot of upper body stuff (rather than squats, etc). Though my groin muscle hasnt been bothering me much since I pulled it on Monday, I did notice stretching yesterday a little twinge that reminded me it may not be fully better so I didnt want to strain it too much.

We did still do some difficult stuff in class last night and we focused a lot on “gripping” moves. We did push ups using the balance ball (hate); and holding a medicine ball over our heads, we pounded it against a wall. We also did “good morning” bows using the kettle bells and also “halos” using the kettle bells. With a TRX strap we did a pull up twist type move that is hard to explain and unfortunately I was able to find a picture.

It was an awesome workout as usual and I felt a little sore this morning. I will be back to class tonight! Since I only got 2 days in this week I am going to have to try and get a workout in on my own this weekend, or at least a run.

When I got home I was surprisingly more energetic than normal and I actually cooked dinner (instead of eating cereal!) and I made us some chicken and shrimp tacos.

Corn is the best on tacos!

Speaking of corn, I made a humungo (word? yes.) salad for lunch that included some fresh mozzarella, turkey, corn, crutons, tons of tomatoes, lettuce (of course), mushrooms, and some Newman’s Own Balsamic vinaigrette.

I was up extra early this morning for some reason and took brown on a long(er) walk. I came back and have been getting random things done around the house. Like cleaning up Torrance’s stockpile of water bottles (and food wrappers!) by his side of the bed….

Im off to get ready for work, chug down some more coffee, and cook up some breakfast! I am thinking eggs today!

  • What is one of your favorite toppings for a salad? What type of dressings do you like?
I love cheese on my salads and lately I am definitely diggin the corn! For dressing I like Italian or some type of vinaigrette, Im not a fan of the creamy ones!
  • What have you been craving for breakfast lately?

  1. yay, im glad you were able to get to fitness class after your incident on monday.

those tacos and salad look so yummy! i also love having corn on salads, but i think my favorite things are…egg…feta or blue cheese crumbles..olives, pepporcini…seriously, i love alot of things on my salad. I go crazy at salad bars, lol. i’m not a huge fan of dressing, I eat it, but always have it on the side bc i dont like my salad drenched in dressing. I could eat a salad plain….but usually I go for balsamic vinegarette, lite ranch, or italian 🙂

  2. I really wish my gym would have classes like that! I am getting a little tired of BodyPump, not gonna lie. Although we did just get TRX straps so I should probably hit up that class.
Glad you are feeling all better Deer Hunter!
    Your dog is ridiculous cute.

    • Haha Deer Hunter!
I know when I first learned about this guys program I was really confused, I was like a gym that you cant just go workout at whenever? and then now it all makes sense. I love it! I think the closest class at a gym that would be similar is cross fit probably? I have never done a cross fit class but from what i hear they sound similar to his program! I have still never tried body pump either!!

  3. Better late than never, right? I’m super behind and trying to catch up so excuse my being a little behind. 🙂 I’m so impressed by how early you get up in the mornings. Even when I didn’t work from home, I would wait until the very last second to get out of the bed to have enough time to rush out the door.
