The Sports Bra I Love

It is December 1st! How exciting… and you know what that means right?

ABCs 25 days of Christmas! I love this and all the wonderful Christmas movies! I love them all, I think my favorite are the Home Alone movies and the Grinch ♥ I just love them!

I did not go to training last night (so I will be scurrying there tonight) because I was going to work on my laundry so I didnt have to wear my back of the closet clothes….Well. I did not do laundry. Today I am wearing a really weird fitting salmon colored plain tee I bought to workout in a while ago. I added a really puffy red scarf to draw attention away from the shirt and I feel a little better about it…

Yes, I am sitting in my truck waiting for my windshield to defrost.

So since I did not do laundry I just did a couple other random things around the house and then made spaghetti for dinner. It was one of those times I wanted to make something in 10 minutes and nothing really sounded appealing.

I have to put my spaghetti on a small plate so because I feel like I am eating more if I do that. It is a weird portion/optical illusion thing, but it works.

I stayed up late catching up on reading blogs, etc but actually woke up on time this morning and took kona on a long walk before heading out the door.

And check this out, PB and banana sandwich… first one of the week! It is probably a new record because I usually dont go longer than two days without one before having withdrawals.

It is no secret that I have huge boobs. I always have, always will and it is just how it is.

Dont worry, I most definitely do not dress like this.

Oh Pam…

One of my most favorite bloggers, Lindsey (she’s in Canada which maybe makes her even cooler, like a long-lost Alaskan almost) has the most perfect post about sports bras and “nungas” (as she calls them) that you must read HERE. It also involves a lot of making fun of Heidi Montag, which is perfect.

Anyway this specific post, while reading it, it was like one of those things where you are reading along and each paragraph you think: “oh my gosh.. me too!” And you keep reading and realize: “THAT’S ME!”

She uses the example of how she always wore a regular bra and a sports bra because she has large chesties, which I have always done as well pretty much since middle school (junior high I guess some people call it). She points out that she finally found a sports bra she loves that allowed her to wear just the sports bra and feel comfortable. I figured, why not check it out right?

That my friends, is a Moving Comfort Sports Bra – the Juno. In a sports bra I want 3 major things:

  1. Uh, support duh. I want my sisters to feel secure. And;
  2. I DONT want them to feel like they are being pushed downward. I want uplifting support, because that is much more comfortable than feeling squashed down. My boobs like to feel up and in (they told me).
  3. A good, smooth, stretchy material.

This bra possesses all of those important characteristics, and for that, I thank it (and Lindsey!)

I just bought one recently and plan to buy a few more now – they are a little spendy but comparable to most other good quality sports bras, and something worth the money. If you have big boobs and have sports bra dilemmas like we did, I highly recommend checking out their website (they have a lot of other great gear too!)

  • What is your favorite “classic” Christmas movie?
  • What is something (other than support) that you look for in a sports bra?

  1. favorite classic christmas movie…hmmm. is home alone considered one? 😉 otherwise, i really enjoy the rudolph claymation movie..AND charlie brown christmas, how can i forget about that one?!

i used to have bigger boobs when i was overweight but when i lost weight, they were the first thing to go…so needless to say i am pretty small chested now, lol. but one thing I really look for in a sports bra is that its seamless, or the seams do not cause chafing, bc it always happens to me and leaves awkward red splotches on my chest or back 😦

    • OO I had that happen to me too, I had one that was really irritating on my neck and would rub!
And i definitely consider home alone xmas movies! those are some of my favs. OO and i love the charlie brown xmas too 🙂

  2. YES!!! Thanks for the shoutout, and I’m so glad you love that bra! Moving Comfort is my fave, perfect for us and our large chestulars. I used to be so self-conscious about running with my nungas flying all over the place…NO MORE.

My two very favourite Christmas movies are Home Alone and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation! I can’t wait to watch them this year,

I LOL’d at the long lost Alaskan comment, haha. I haven’t been to Alaska for years, but I remember it being so beautiful 🙂

    • Oh my gosh, national lampoon. forgot about that one too! love it.
Haha, well I just feel like Canada and Alaska is similar, plus how you talk about growing up far away from cities, etc – so like my childhood!

  3. I just got one that I love because it is easy to get into. I’d been using one that I had to put on over my head, like a shirt, and it was really tricky. I just got a Panache Full-Busted Underwire Sports Bra 5021 (the formal name). It keeps everything totally immobile. It goes on like a regular bra – arms through, hooks in back. The band is padded, and has thicker padding under the hook area so you can’t feel the metal at all. Then, the straps in the back have an extra hook so you can pull them together and make it sort of like a racer-back, which really ups the stability factor. And, you don’t have to have yoga flexibility to hook that hook.

CRITICAL to have good support. I don’t know what I’d do without it.

  6. I hate sports bras that give the uni-boob effect. You know what I’m talking about, right??

    December 1, 2011
    • Oh DEFINITELY. I have (sadly) been a uniboob offender once or twice. That is also a major “selling point” that Moving Comfort has on their site about this bra is that it offers good “shape!”

  7. I’m having MAJOR sports bra issues right now. All of mine are too big and the girls have been OUT OF CONTROL lately! Thanks for the recommendation.

    • Out of control is the worst! Seriously try this one out, Moving Comfort has a bunch of other “models” of sports bras too but I love their site because it has so much specific sizing info and categories to shop by (cup size, type of sports bra, etc) and they have reviews from other people who have purchased them!
