Best Workout Song & White Chocolate Gingerbread Cookies


If you are playing catch up from the weekend….

I actually started my morning out with Starbucks! Its been a while, old friend.

I had to meet someone at Starbucks this morning sort of last minute so I didnt have time to make breakfast or anything so it worked out well.  I got my favorite gouda sandwich from them!

Yesterday I managed to do my second run on the C25K program in between doing laundry. I was definitely not feelin’ it, but I did it anyway. I am hoping that in a couple of weeks I will learn to love running a lot more 😉 I tell ya though, whenever I feel a lull if I turn on my all time favorite workout song, it perks me up right away.

If you are wondering, the song is “I like to move it”…. from the Madagascar movie. Try it, it will make you smile and the beat is wonderful!

I most likely will go to training tonight, but we will see how the day goes since I have tons to do today!


As promised yesterday, here is the white chocolate gingerbread cookie recipe. These things are so good and would be awesome with coffee!

White Chocolate Gingerbread Cookies

Yield: 24 cookies
Prep time: 10 mins
Bake time: 12 mins


  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1-1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1-1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1-1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 3/4 package white chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In large bowl, mix shortening, brown sugar, egg, and molasses until creamy (I used electric hand mixer).
  3. Stir in flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves until well combined and then stir in white chocolate chips. (I did this with large spoon by hand – dough will be thick)
  4. Drop spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie shit. Bake for 12 minutes.
  5. Let cool on baking sheet for a minute before transferring to wire rack or clean, dry, counter surface.

  1. “I Like to Move It” reminds me of my cheerleading days! It was popular during our competition days and it was also on the Jock Jams CD at that time!

    I’d say 3 is probably the max amount of days I’d workout without a rest. I get burnt out veryyy easily haha

  3. It’s an old one but I love the “Dynamite” song. That one really helps me get an extra burst of energy. Also, anything BEP or Enrique!! : ) I love me a little Latin.

    I try to be active every day, but I won’t do an intense workout more than 2 days in a row.

    • Latin! I love it! my trainer has a lot of latin mixes along with some other things similar, he always has the best mixes!
