Yes, I Have A Fear Of Electricity
I have today and tomorrow at work and then I am free for the Christmas weekend! Yipee!
I woke up a little on the late side this morning, I just didnt want to get out of bed. So peanut butter and banana sandwich and 2 coffees have graced my presence today.
Let me tell you, yesterday can be considered the official kickoff of my holiday eating because a coworker brought us little goody bags that included peppermint bark that was melt-in-yo’-mouth good. And some festive chex mix, along with this little pampered chef cookbook which is an awesome idea!
Someone also brought in a pumpkin roll…. I could not resist.
With that being said, it was a good thing I went to training last night to work all that sugar off!
I actually really liked our circuit last night. The only thing I was not a huge fan of was more lunges and this time we had to have a 40 lb sandbag on our back. It made my legs so shaky! We also did reverse skull crushers using the TRX straps. I say reverse because rather than lowering a bar/weights to our forehead we sort of did a “push up” style with the straps. Either way, my triceps are burning! Gotta get rid of that arm flab 😉
We also did hamstring curls using the stability ball, shrugs, rope climbing, and jackhammers using the kettle bells.
When I crawled home in pain from lunges (kidding…sorta) I was starving. I decided to cook up some chicken breast on the good ol’ George Foreman. Whenever I do them this way they typically only need to cook about 3-4 minutes on each side.

I promise you it is delicious.
Also if you do not have a George Foreman, I highly recommend getting one. The only thing that is a pain about the particular one I have is that there is no adjustment on it, it is just on or off. So when it is cooking too fast I just unplug it (to turn it off) and then plug it back in to add more heat, except…. I am super scared of electricity and getting shocked and I have had it spark at me before (I know I am seriously making my case right now about how you need to get one huh?)
I even tried to call Torrance off the couch to come plug it back in for me because I was scared. It didnt work, until I went into detail about how he may bite into some raw chicken….that would gross anyone out.
I dont know why I am so scared of electricity. I guess I have been shocked before and definitely did not like it. Also, I remember when I was younger I had a computer in my room and it sparked and smoked and then smelled like electrical fire and I told my mom I didnt want it in my room anymore because I was terrified of it!
Anyway, back to dinner. I also added this on the side of my chicken:
I was a little skeptical at first of what the butter sauce may be like but it was actually really lightly coated, and not all heavy and artery-clogging.
It was de-lish!
I will probably head to training again tonight, though I need to get to the store at some point and get the rest of the stuff for Christmas dinner. We will be celebrating Christmas with his aunt and uncle that live here on Christmas eve so on Christmas day I will be cooking a small feast for Torrance and I.
In Alaska, we usually spent the day running around to different family members houses on Christmas (and Thanksgiving) so I am looking forward to a relaxing day in for us!
