Hey, it is already Wednesday though? I like it!
(Kona is not amused).
For breakfast this morning, egg, cheese, and turkey sandwich!
Last night’s training was great! Most of our moves were pretty simple (still hard, but I mean not very complex).
The first 2 rounds we did were a minute and a half and I weirdly sort of liked it. Yes, that’s right. We focused on form and paced ourselves, and then the last (third) round we did was a 30 second speed round where we focused on working extra hard and faster and getting our heart rate up.
Some moves included:
- Superman using TRX straps
- rows using resistance bands
- calf raises
- box squats
- kettle bell squats with a shrug (holding a kettle bell in each hand lower into squat with arms at side and then when you come up, shrug your shoulders)
- standing oblique twists with stability ball
- lunges using slider discs on our feet (with front foot against wall to keep from sliding of course)
I loved the stability ball twist and it was so simple. Standing with feet a little wider than shoulder width, hold a stability ball out in front of you with arms straight and twist as far to each side as you can, pivoting opposing foot. It felt great on my arms, abs, and chest though I was really shaky and burning by the end of a minute and 30 seconds!
And of course once I got home, it was dinner time right away. Nights I go to training I am always looking for something quick and easy to cook for dinner so we can hopefully eat by 8:00.
Last night, chicken tacos were the winner!
Chicken breast (that I diced and sautéed in a pan with a little taco seasoning, light sour cream, shredded cheese, refried beans, lettuce, tomato, and corn on a wheat tortilla. It was extra good and beefed up with th beans on it. It hit the spot!
Also, yesterday I managed to drink 100 ounces of water! I am getting closer to my goal of 120 ounces!
After dinner it was my turn to bring Kona on her nightly walk. I was not looking forward to it because the wind yesterday was harsh. I feel bad complaining because it was a wonderful 40 below yesterday in my hometown in Alaska (cant say I was missing it) but it was actually really cold here nonetheless.
My winter stuff is all packed away still (I dont know why)…so with the help of Torrance, I bundled up. I brought out the only heavy duty jacket that I brought with me to NC. And dont forget gloves which I luckily just got in the mail with an Xmas present, and an awesome hat of Torrance’s to go over my ponytail of course.
Adorable I know. Scary how much I actually resemble a guy when my hair isnt showing.
And yes, I did file this post under “fashion” because, well…. isnt it obvious? 😉
Since we had a short week of training this week (none on Monday for the holiday) and I wont be able to go on Friday because we are taking a little weekend trip (more on that later), I will most likely run tonight and go to training tomorrow night to spread it out a little bit.

I love core moves, and lately I am really feeling the upper body moves – I wont nice arms and shoulders!
