Chobani Take Five

Just dropping in to say a quick hello today.

Yesterday was spent doing a little shopping. We braved it and headed to the mall (finally) to use up some gift cards I had burning a hole in my pocket. We lasted about 3 hours before we were done with all that.

I like shopping and getting new things, but I tire quickly at the mall – something about the people and digging through stuff….that’s why I love internet shopping 😉

We did make it out alive though, and with some good loot – the bulk of my purchases were done at Victoria Secret as I was well overdue for some new…..supportive gear.

And after the mall, I headed to the grocery store to do some stocking up. I always feel so successful after the grocery store, even if I do leave crying a little from the hit to the wallet.

So, remember how I’m not really a fan of Chobani (or Greek yogurt in general) because of the too-thick-sour-cream-like texture? Which is why I use it in place of sour cream by the way.

I have tried a few different ways, flavors, with certain additives and it just hasnt done it for me.

Well, With the new flavors they released that I have seen popping up with other bloggers, I have been eager to give it another shot – specifically because the Apple Cinnamon flavor caught my eye.

Well, after searching at my grocery store, it appeared they didnt carry it (yet) but this weekend, there was one lone Apple Cinnamon Chobani on the shelf so I snatched it up to give it a whirl.

The verdict?

I added a little extra cinnamon of my own but I definitely liked it! Especially the 14 grams of protein!

Now I am just going to have to go camp out by the yogurt shelves at the grocery store and snatch them all up before everyone else can!

We’re off to Torrance’s uncles shortly to enjoy the Super Bowl festivities (i.e. pizza, beer/wine, and wings!)

I’m not used to the Super Bowl being so late! In Alaska it was always an afternoon thing (around 2) rather than a nighttime thing. I’m actually going to have to attempt to stay awake so I may be stopping to get a coffee before the festivities 😉

Kona is ready though, regardless.

Have a good Sunday!

  • If you are participating in Super Bowl festivities are you eating anything exciting?
  • Favorite Chobani flavor?

Greek yogurt definitely is an acquired taste, but once you acquire it you’ll never go back. I don’t actually like the flavors. My favorite way to eat the plain is with coconut flour, PB and cinnamon.

  4. I was 100% addicted to greek yogurt before I went paleo. I never thought that I could live without it, but it turns out my stomach was NOT a fan of the lactose in it. Go figure!

We actually missed most of the game because we were driving back from MD. Not gonna lie, I was not too torn up about it. 🙂
