Ready For Some Old Pictures?
Morning!
I am glad to hear from yesterday’s post that most of you have disastrous kitchens while cooking simple things too and it’s not just me!
And guess what I had for lunch yesterday?
Leftover enchilada! Perfect!
And for dinner, I kept things pretty simple and threw some marinated chicken breast in the oven. Served with a side of steamed broccoli and cauliflower and some mashed potatoes.
Pretty boring I know… but I actually hurried through dinner because I wanted to work a little project….
I have been wanting to scan in some of my old photos. I actually discovered an iPhone app called “Shoebox” that allows you to do so pretty easily. It will take forever to get them all in, but I got a little chunk uploaded yesterday.
So since I love looking at old photos of any kind, I thought that today I would actually do something a little different and would share a few with you! Prepare yourself.
Since they were scanned in (and kinda old), the quality of some of them are so-so. But here ya go (in no particular order):
Oh yes, that is yours truly. With my Cabbage Patch Doll. She was an “African American” Cabbage Patch doll too… maybe my parents wanted to teach me diversity. Nice to see my unibrow was starting at a young age too apparently.
Oh yeah this is a good one. My mom in her towel (Im sure she loves this). And yes, we did have forest mural wallpaper covering an entire wall of our living room. Amazing I know.
…..One of my favorites of my parents.
Yep, that’s my 10th grade high school picture. Hey look… that must have been the year I discovered face bronzer…but at least I used to do my hair back then.
Aw! My first birthday! I obviously am pissed that there is a bow on my head and plotting with my sister. Or maybe I’m mad because they were celebrating a day early (time stamp tells all). My sister is also loving that I am sharing this picture with the world.
…..Aaaaand that is why I’m scared of clowns.
I honestly have absolutely no idea how old I was in this picture. I would have to guess by my hair and size of my boobs that it was most likely around 5th grade. But damn.. check out those abs.
Okay, this one is actually one of my most favorite pictures ever. I just think the reflection of my dad taking the picture in my mom’s classic aviators is pretty cool. And the adorable gap teeth may have something to do with it as well.
Check me out with my Metallica shirt and apple glasses on the boat?! Can you say D-I-V-A?
Oh yes, the classic big Italian family picture. This is one of the rare pictures of my dad’s whole side of the family. Well, minus about 5 cousins (who werent born yet) and one uncle. Hint: I’m the one on the right, most likely picking my nose. I love that my great grandma is in there too (sitting in the middle of the couch). This is sometime in 1989-1990 (thus my sister’s perms and acid wash jeans!)
And the last one for now… such an awesome classic picture of my grandma! The same one standing in the back in the above group photo.

I will be heading to training tonight! My legs are a little sore still from Monday night’s madness so they could use some extra activity to get them stretched out again!
- Do you have a lot of old photos?
- How many cousins do you have?
I have somewhere around 25 between both my mom and dad’s side of the family. - What was/will be your workout today?
these pictures are so awesome!! (i think my fave is the one in the aviators too!)
my parents used to be meticulous about doing big photo albums when we were small but now the pics are all jumbled up and alot of them are lost..it makes me sad. in this digital age, its rare for people to have photo albums that are tangible anymore…i’d love to just start making albums myself!
i have ALOT of cousins, they are mostly on my dads side..i prob have around the same as you.
workout today will be 7 slowww miles today, i’m gonna take it easy, still not feeling too hot.
Your grandmother is so beautiful!! You obviously have some good genes going on in your family 🙂
I love all of your pictures! Especially the Metallica shirt 🙂 I only have 2 cousins – you are so lucky to have alot!
I know I wish I would have grown up closer to them so I could have been closer with them!!
Such great photos! 🙂 Isn’t it sweet how many awesome memories pictures hold?! I totally remember my Cabbage Patch Doll, I loved her! 🙂 lol
Workout today: moderate 45 min. walk on the treadmill….I can’t wait to get running again!
Hope you have a great day girl!
Haha for a 5th grader you had some rockin’ abs!
I have an entire file of old photos on my laptop, but haven’t looked at them in years.
Its fun! every once in a while i get nestalgic and pull out my box from under the bed. one day I will scan them all in so I have an extra copy just in case!
Those are some sweet old pics!! My mom has a ton of pictures, but I feel like I don’t have any printed pictures after moving around so much the last few years.
I wish I had my 5th grade abs too!!!
I LOVE all those photos!!!!!! Your grandmother is stunning!!! I need to go back to my parents house and try to do the same with our family pictures…it would be a good laugh if nothing else!
Between both sides of my family, I have 13 first cousins. However, my husband is the youngest of SEVEN kids, and each of his parents is from a family of 5 or 6 kids. It’s a HUGE family, and I love it!
That sounds familiar! My mom and dad are both from huge families. Torrance on the other hand just has a small handful of cousins, and most are a lot younger than him!
They’re really fun photos! You do look kind of sneaky in the baby photo where you said you were plotting with your sister 🙂
I have quite a few photos back in Australia but they kinda of get less frequent from 13 onwards.
No workout today because I’m a little sick but tomorrow I hope to get out for a run!
