A Quick [Photo-less] Weekend Recap

Welp, no pictures all weekend long. I know, I know – that is jsut what happens when I’m going nonstop!

It is so nice to be home! It was great seeing everyone, but since it was such a quick trip, we spent most of the time driving.

Here is a quick breakdown of how our FL trip went. It really isnt as fun without pictures. I dont even have any good eats to share because we mostly ate on the run!

We left out Friday afternoon and made the drive down to Tampa in about 9 1/2 hours. Only two stops too! We scooted right along. It was nice since we rode along with Torrance’s uncle, neither of us had to worry about driving and we watched some movies on the iPad.

We arrived shortly after midnight and hung out with Torrance’s mom for a few before we all passed out. We had to get up early to head to grandmas house to fix her car (which was the point of the trip basically).

We (meaning us women) sat around for the afternoon in the sun while the boys fixed her car. It was definitely a nice break!

After that, we all headed out to a friend’s house  for a little wedding reception for some friends. They had gotten married a few weeks ago and to celebrate just did a little mini reception at their house. Their house is AMAZING though. Their living room opens up to a gorgeous screened in pool, and they have a nice game room and bar, etc so it was a ton of fun. Another later night!

It was sad we had to leave so early on Sunday and couldnt stay longer for Mother’s Day! We all had drunk quite a bit the night before so we woke up a little late but I cooked breakfast for everyone and we enjoyed the morning with Torrance’s mom and grandma. It was actually his first time getting to see his mom on Mother’s Day since he was 7, so it was nice that they got to spend the time together, even if it was short.

We left out at about 11 yesterday morning and again made it home in about 9 1/2 hours. Again, only two stops. Unfortunately it rained the whole time. But the trip went very smoothly and we were back at hoe with brown dog in no time!

I will be back with more eventful stuff tomorrow. Today will be spent catching up on work, grocery shopping, and doing some laundry/unpacking/cleaning at the house!

Have a great Monday!

  • When you travel do you usuall unpack right away or is it delayed?
I try to do it within the next day or so.
  • What is the longest road trip you have gone on?
Definitely the 13 days and 4500 miles from Alaska to NC for me.

  1. I’m not sure I could handle a 9 1/2 hour drive, let ALONE the trek you made from Alaska! The most I’ve ever driven is from Seattle to Colorado, behind that was Colorado to Arizona which was a straight 13 hours. I much rather prefer flying now 🙂

  2. I hate road trips!! Lol. That was a fun fact for a game I had to play at an icebreaker recently. I’d die!!!!!!!! The longest was probably Minnesota –> Florida. With my fam in the minivan when my brother was going to college there. That was before I had an iPod even! ROUGH!! Lol. It always takes me DAYS to unpack.

  4. 18 hours in the car this weekend alone? Girl, you are a trooper!! Longest trip I ever made was New Mexico to Seattle when I moved up here. It was just over three days with a mom, two dogs and four plants (the moving company wouldn’t take them?) It was interesting to say the least, but not quite as interesting as your epic trip!! 🙂
