A First For Me &My New Favorite 30 Minute Jammin’ Playlist

Well, let’s just say that it is a very good thing that I had an amazing workout last night. It is always good to get a really hard, sweaty workout in, but yesterday especially.

Why? you ask?

We had to go to the mall after my workout to pick up a couple things.

As a side note, before I go into why it was a good thing that I had an awesome workout – let me just say that I am a mess after working out. I mean like sweated all my makeup off and my hair is all frizzy and gross and I’m sweaty. I never go anywhere besides home afterwards and I was really torn between if I should just wear my workout attire and go as is – or change into normal clothes (which is all I had time to do). I mean at least if I am in my workout clothes everyone can see why I look like hell, where as if I am in normal clothes, it is like I just look like hell all the time or for no reason. Not that we should care what people think, but you know what I mean.

Okay, okay – anyway. Every time we go to the mall, we go in the entrance that has a Cinnabon right near the door. And every single time, I almost die because the smell is so wonderful.

Annnnnnd, I have never tried Cinnabon before (or “a” Cinnabon?”) Yes this is true.

The closest I have come is my beloved coffee creamer.

So after some running around we decided that on the way out of the mall I would finally try the sacred Cinnabon because Torrance insisted I have not yet lived until I’ve tried one. So he so generously decided we needed a 4-pack so he could eat them for breakfast throughout the week.

So, once we got home I cut one of those ass-jiggling-inducing monsters in half and popped it in the microwave.

Now, if you eat that for breakfast, serious kudos to you. Holy sugar rush! Phew! I ended up eating about 2/3 of my half before I was all sugared out. I do have to say though, the doughy gooeyness really is delicious. I like sweet stuff, but there is a boundary where things get a little too sweet/rich for me! I am somewhat of a sugar-wuss if you will.

And now this is the part where I remind you that this is a healthy living blog (kinda)…. and ok, I get a little political for a second.

America, this is why you (or we, as a country) are over weight.

That is all.

Oh, and just for fun – on top of discovering Cinnabon’s are marvelous and frighteningly delicious, I have decided that Torrance needs a Fedora.

I like to call this his K-Fed “what am I doing with my life, my music sucks but it’s a good thing I had a thing with Britney for a while so that people now know who I am” look. Yeah, it’s kind of a mouthful, but I think it fits.

Okay, speaking of that awesome workout that I had – I have to share my new favorite playlist.

There is a guy at training that always has the best playlists. If he is there, we always use his iPod because he always has a vast array of good music for us. Since I have been attending the 5:30 sessions, I am happy that I get to experience them (since that is when he goes too).

So, he somewhat inspired a few of these songs that I wouldn’t have thought to put on a workout playlist.

This list is just over 30 minutes and is really fast paced so it’s amazing if you need one to really pick you up a little and keep you pumped. If you have seen some of my other playlists – you know I prefer fast with a good beat anyway, but this one is extra good.

If you overlook this, I recommend you at least download “A Warrior’s Call” especially if you like rock. That song will seriously make your workout 40x better. I have always liked it but I especially do after seeing it performed live at the concert a few weekends ago and the crowd going crazy.

  • Do you ever go out in public (store, etc) after a really sweaty gross workout?
  • Cinnabon, yay or nay? Any foods/desserts you can only eat in small doses because they are so rich?
Some dark chocolate desserts and also crab – I like it but I can only eat a little at a time
  • A favorite fast-paced song of yours right now? Please share!

  1. i’m a little bit of a weirdo when it comes to at least my gym workouts..i always bring an extra shirt to change into after my workout bc I hate sitting sweaty in my car…there have def been times that i’ll hit up the supermarket after the gym (its right next door!) but if im running, i will def shower and change before going anywhere, lol.

cinnabon!! haha, we saw one on sunday and I was tempted…i havent had one in a long time but they are dangerously delicious and also ridiculously sweet…yeah, i’d def only be able to eat maybe half at most nowadays!

  3. I used to eat Cinnabon in high school, but it’s been a while. I do like them and I don’t have a problem with how ridiculously sweet they are … but I always feel a bit sick after eating one. So I just enjoy the smell of them at the mall instead. 😉

  5. I can totally relate to your do i stay in workout clothes or change connundrum. I usually stay in the workout clothes for exactly that reason…so people will understand why I look so crazy!! I can only eat the tiny little Cinnabons b/c they are too sweet. At our mall the pretzel place is right by the door. What’s up with them always putting the places with the best food smells right by the door! Sheesh!!
I love me some more techno-y stuff, so right now I am loving, “big in japan” by martin solveig and dragonette. good stuff!!

  6. Hahaha; you have to check out Jim Gaffigan’s stand up act about Cinnabon!

You are a woman who will appreciate it 🙂

  7. I’ve only had Cinnabon once, and it was at an airport. I think it was a little old or something, but I’m sure a fresh one would be delicious! I do love cinnamon rolls. 🙂

After teaching zumba or shred, I am crazy sweaty and really gross. As long as I have on zumba apparel and can swipe on some deo, I’ll run an errand or two. I feel like it’s an advertisement that my zumba class is hard and a good workout hahaha. I know what you mean about changing clothes but having nasty workout hair/face!
