More Fun At The Lake & Mmm, Why Didn’t I Think Of That?
Woah. Weekend is over already… What up with that?
So as I mentioned last week sometime, Torrance’s uncle bought a boat early last week. Best thing ever. He even let Torrance drive. Which is obviously dangerous (kidding).
So of course, we had to go test it out on Saturday. We went to the same lake we did a couple weeks back, and the water was even warmer this time. Like taking a bath. Pretty much felt the same as the 90 degree weather outside of the water – pretty weird.
I was determined to try wakeboarding this time, but the guys forgot the smaller wakeboard for me – so sadly I will have to wait until next time…. but the guys got some good ones in….
And his uncle even got some slalom skiing in…
The slalom ski looked ridiculously fast (and really difficult!) ad I would probably face plant instantly if I ever tried.
I was planning on going tubing… until I saw how beat up the guys got out there…
I wish so badly I would have taken video of them. They had some really ridiculous, flipping, rolling, painful looking crashes. I wont lie; I laughed the entire time.
And remember how at the end of the day last time we had a little buzz kill because Torrance’s uncle dropped his keys in the lake when we came to shore? Well this time when we headed back to shore – we had tickets waiting for us.
Well, kind of. Matt drove Torrance’s jet ski in and we (Torrance) got a ticket ($250!!) for not having the registration number stickers on the jet ski. We even presented him with our legal, current (still Alaska) boat registration to show everything was kosher. He gave us the ticket still but gave Torrance a court date to show up to in August once we transfer it to NC registration and they will throw the ticket out with no fee.
Then, we also had a warning citation for parking on the grass (there were no parking spots left and other people were parked there too) and Matt also got a warning citation for making a wake in a no-wake zone. Geesh.
All-in-all, it was a successful day. We got home late (9ish) and ate chicken and mashed potatoes and drank beer and fell asleep from the long day in the sun.
On another note, Sunday was filled with laziness, boring house duties. And a new delicious snack that I am not sure why I never thought of doing this.
I found it on Pinterest of course! From this lovely lady’s blog.
Yogurt covered blueberries!
I went ahead and did the exact concept that she did. I used fresh blueberries and Honey Chobani….
All ya do is get out a baking/cookie sheet, stir up the yogurt real good, stab a blueberry with a toothpick, dip completely in yogurt, and then using a second toothpick slide berry onto cookie sheet. I did this until I used all the yogurt.
Then place the cookie sheet in the freezer for about an hour and then slide the frozen yogurt berries into a Ziplock and put them back in the freezer for later!
Delish! Side note: they melt pretty quickly, so keep them in the freezer until your ready to eat them!
Next time I actually want to try this with a little bit sweeter yogurt (or add a little extra honey).
I would also like to try strawberries and/or raspberries with vanilla yogurt! YUM!
Have a great Monday!
- Any good eats this weekend?
- What’s your favorite berry?
- What will be/was your workout today?
Training tonight! I will have to go to the later 6:30 though because Torrance had to take the truck today so I cant leave work early.
