My Children Are Coming To Town

I have some exciting news!

Not like, getting-a-new-puppy kind of exciting news. Or going to Europe. Or meeting the Goz….

hey girl

(Not his most beautiful picture, but you get the point)

But my news is exciting nonetheless.

My children parents are coming to visit!

I call them my children because I feel that sometimes I spend time babysitting. My dad is a 18 year old stuck in a 50 year old’s body.

You guys have probably noticed I dont talk about my parents a ton on the blog. Or family in general. That is because, as I mentioned in my "About" section. We all live far apart and dont see each other often.

Dont let this be confused with "not being close" to my family, because we are and are simply apart in terms of geography.

Anyway, I saw my parents very briefly (like, a couple hours) when we were in Alaska in July. Only because we were so busy and I knew they were coming here. So really, the last time I actually saw them and hung out with them (besides those few hours in July) was February of 2010.

Yeah, that’s a long time.

They are stopping here on their way back to Belize for the winter after staying at their house in Alaska for the summer.

This will be their first time visiting our new home in NC. We wont have a lot of time (a few days), as they will arrive Friday and stay through middle of next week – so I’m sure a lot of wine will be consumed, and fun will be had.

I’m not gonna lie, I am pretty excited to see their dog too….and I’m really excited for them to cook for me.

True love.

On a completely random note, here is an adorable video to make your day.

Make sure your sound is on too, the song just goes perfectly.

  • How often do you get to see your parents?
  • How many siblings do you have? Are you youngest, middle, oldest, etc?
I have two older sisters (like, a lot older) so I am the spoiled bratty adorable, loving baby of the fam

  1. Before we moved to Arizona, we saw them maybe twice a year. Now we see them every other week or so. Same with my sister (she is older) but now I see her at least once a week!
And thank you for the link. Made my morning!

How often do you get to see your parents? I see my Mom a couple of times a week, my Dad passed away about 2.5 years ago.

How many siblings do you have? Are you youngest, middle, oldest, etc? I’m #3 of 6 kids.

  3. SO jealous. My husband gets to see his fam right now because he’s on a business trip. I saw mine this summer and probably won’t again until Thanksgiving. 🙂 There are SIX in my family. I’m second oldest of three girls & three boys. I love it!

  4. I haven’t seen my parents in a while because I moved to The Netherlands to finish my undergrad degree (I’m from Ontario, Canada). I’m the oldest of three!
