What I Ate…Thursday – Bento Box Edition!

That doesnt really have the same ring as Wednesday does it?

Okay, first off let me just say thank you all for the kind words on my last post – it means a lot!

——————————

So as you have probably seen on Instagram (if you follow me….if not I am @andreaoutloud) I have brought back the bento box for lunchtime! I figured I would share a couple from last week and this week.

It brings the child out in me.

bento1 Bento 1 – sliced roast beef rolled with pesto cream cheese, an orange, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers with balsamic, and then a hard boiled egg and babybel cheese for a snack.

bento2 Bento 2 – tuna and crackers (I am lovin’ the Kashia 7 grain crackers!), cheese, sliced cucumbers and tomatoes with balsamic, and raspberries (yum!)

bento3 Bento 3 – egg salad and crackers, raspberries, and an applesauce with a babybel on the side for a snack.

And then I have one dinner to share with you (from last night):

chix Chicken with Caribbean Jerk marinade, half a baked potato with a little cheese and Chobani, and asparagus. My new favorite thing is putting lemon all over my veggies. YUM!

And just for fun… look what Kona has been eating:

kona1 Yes, that is a gourmet chicken and rice dinner cooked by yours truly. Sadly brown dog has been sick (stomach bug) and the vet recommended a “bland” diet for the next few days.

Yes, princess Kona. I am sure after the few days are up she is not going to want to go back to her usual dog food.

And just for that, I will leave you with an adorable, pathetic sick-dog picture.

Only one more day left in this crazy work-week!

  • How many days a week would you say you pack your lunch vs. going out to eat?
  • Do you have a specific lunchbox/lunch bag?

  1. I work from home fulltime so I make my lunch everyday. But it can get very, very boring and repetitive.

  4. I never go out for lunch – I always bring mine with me. I work in a residential area, so there’s no restaurants I could within walking distance. It’s probably a good thing too or else I would be tempted to buy my lunch!

  5. I work from home and eat at home most days, but I can never think of anything good for lunch, thanks for the new ideas 🙂

  6. I pack my lunch almost every day. I might go out to eat once every other week. But I also work in education, so it’s not as easy to run out and buy lunch. My husband, on the other hand, gets to eat out more often. 😉
