Okay, I’m Ready To Go Back To The Beach

No, really.

beach1 It was like heaven.

Like I mentioned, we left early (well, 730ish) Saturday morning to head down to Myrtle Beach, which is about a 4 hour drive from us, and we may have been speeding a little and got there in like 3 hours and 20 minutes or something. I was honestly shocked/excited we actually didnt hit any traffic.

We arrived at our hotel around 11ish, knowing check-in wasnt until 4 but they kindly gave us our parking pass… so we plopped down on the beach until about 5.

Honestly, we had some plans to go out and stuff while we were here. But we ended up spending almost all of our time on the beach. A entire 8 1/2 hours on Sunday!

The weather was perrrrrfect the entire time. And I was really surprised that the beach wasnt overly crowded for the holiday weekend. I mean there were a lot of people there, but not to the point where it was annoying or anything. We must have had some luck on our side!

Our hotel was nice, I was looking for something cheap-ish right on the beach since it was sort of a spur of the moment trip and it worked well. We stayed at Grande Shores. There were a few things about it I didnt care for (I may have gotten some road rage in the parking garage) but overall it was a good stay and definitely a good value. (I’m not going to do a full-blown review on here about it, because I am kind of too lazy honestly, haha)

Plus, the view from our room wasnt too shabby.

Sadly I dont have any good eats to report. Nothing too spectacular honestly, but at least it wasnt all bad like when we were at Opryland a couple weeks ago. It’s like we are having a dry spell of good food while traveling or something. I hope it ends soon because good eats is one of my favorite things about traveling!

The first night we were there we tried this cool brew-house type place right near our hotel, though the atmosphere was really neat and the service was good, the food was pretty awful. The best thing we ate the whole trip honestly was this brick oven pizza at this little beach bar! It was fabulous and I will have dreams about it.

Other than that it was a pretty damn mellow trip and we need more of those. It was perfect, and we were so sad to leave Monday morning.

I was, however, happy that even on our way home we still didnt hit any traffic! Luck! And all was right in the world because I got to eat these in the car.

What is a road trip without good snacks?

  4. I love the view from your room.

Whenever I used to drive from university home for the weekend I’d always get a flavored carbonated water. For some reason I’d always get thirsty on the three and a half hour drive and never hungry.
