Stitch Fix #3 – Bright Colors
Yes it is time for another Stitch Fix sharing session.
If you’re curious about what Stitch Fix is, or why I hopped on board, you can go back to my last Stitch Fix post to see what it’s all about in my own words.
Soooo, a couple notes this time….
Yeeeeeeah I got a full length mirror for you guys (win!). Oh, what’s that? Why is it propped up on a case of beer you ask? Basically I was too lazy to mount it (and may not since we are moving soon-ish). I am crafty like that.
Also, I dunno if my lighting was off or what, so some of the pictures are a little funky – bear with me, I am not a natural at this whole selfie-mirror thing.
So, about the clothes – this time I left a note for the stylist that I wanted to see some brighter colors in this box.
And as soon as I opened the box I realized they did not disappoint!
I’m not gonna lie, as I unpackaged the items to look at each of them, I was a little skeptical of most of them, but I’ll tell you about that individually below….
Here’s what I got:
Item #1: [Echo] Calistoga Dot Print Wrap Scarf – $28
I haven’t met too many scarves I don’t like. And I surprisingly don’t have any pink ones so that worked perfectly. KEPT!
Item #2: [Pomelo] Tulip Print Tav Sleeve Blouse – $68
This is one I was kind of skeptical of. It was a hangy shirt (which as I mentioned, I never know how those will go until I try them on) and also it had tulips all over it. But I did love the colors. I love the dark coral and navy mix. After trying it on, I ended up looooving it. And the material is so smooth and comfy. Kept!
Item #3: [Pink Martini] Mia Sleeveless Bird Print Dress – $40
Yeah, you guessed it – was totally skeptical of this one. Bird dress?! Definitely don’t own anything like this. The first thing I loved about it though was the material. I wish there were a way for you to feel it through the computer. But you can’t, so I will basically just tell you it is super comfy and soft and amazing. I was also shocked how well it fit me. I definitely am weird proportions for a dress to fit me well in the right spots, but after I tried it on I thought it would be super cute and light and cool for a hot summer day. Something I could wear casually or to work. Kept!
Item #4: [Just Black] Adora Skinny Jean – $88
Item #5: [41Hawthorn] Natasha Front Pocket Sleeveless Blouse – $58
This one is a two-fer (the shirt and pants are both from this fix).
Let me start with the pants. I was definitely most skeptical about the pants because a) they are salmon colored and I don’t own any colored pants b) I have a reaaaaaally hard time sizing pants, they are usually awkward on me so I was skeptical that they would fit at all and c) I’m not that into skinny jeans. I mean I’m not necessarily built for them, I have short “thick” legs, big hips, and a pretty big ass. So yeah, I wasn’t sure about them… but holy cow they fit amazingly and were so comfortable! Like really, this was a huge shock to me. It is so rare for me to put on a pair of jeans and I love the way they fit. Also, turns out I have a lot of stuff that will go with the color really well. So yeah, I’m keeping them. And on my review of this item, I may have left a little note saying I wouldn’t be opposed to receiving these again in a future fix in denim or black.
The shirt, this is funny because it is the only thing when I was checking stuff out before trying it on that I was like “oh I love this and it is totally me!” and after trying everything on… it was my least favorite. I just don’t like the way it fits me. It is borderline too big and it is a little too baggy (from the side it is funky looking with my boobs). I was on the fence about it but ended up keeping it simply because it was cheaper if I did since I opted to keep the other four items, it was cheaper for me to keep all five and get the discount (25%) for keeping all items. I figure I can wear it under something, or if I don’t ever wear it I will just give it to someone later.
So there you have it – another successful Fix! I have definitely learned that leaving awesome feedback when you checkout (after you get your box) is so important!
I was so impressed with this box for the simple fact that the point of me doing this is to go outside my comfort zone and incorporate some new stuff into my wardrobe – and this box definitely achieved that for me!
Like I said, I changed the time of month I am getting my box (to around the 20th) so I will have another one in late March to share with ya. I included a couple little requests for my next box – like that I’d like to see some jewelry for my accessory item, and also I wouldn’t mind seeing some more fitted-style shirts.
- Would you wear any of the above items?
