Things I’ve Been Loving… This Summer

Rather than recapping anything and everything this summer (psh, I can barely remember last week), I figured I’d just share some of the things I’ve been diggin’ lately:

#1 – Actually getting to spend some time in my backyard. The beginning of the summer was very hectic and I didn’t get to spend a lot of time at home, but once things have mellowed out I’ve actually gotten to enjoy it some.

#2 – Grilling all the things. Seriously, I have cooked 80% of all dinners this summer on the grill. So easy and delicious. I can definitely tell I have been without a grill the last 3 years (since we couldnt have one at our apartment), making up for lost time!

#3 – Wine. But this is nothing new. (Hey, at least I am recycling, okay?)

#4 – Packing my lunch for work. I have been doing excellent with this all summer!

#5 – My parents coming to visit. It was the first time I have seen them in 2 years – and it was a blast! They actually just left yesterday and were here for about a week.

#6 – This new Thai restaurant down the street. It’s my new fav. – everything is so fresh too!

#7 – My FoodSaver. Seriously, love this thing. I used to hate freezing food (because I felt like it just didn’t taste the same to me). So much easier and definitely saving me some money (and trips to the store!) PS – vegetarians, look away.

#7 – Birchbox. Yes, I am not the most exciting in my beauty regimen, so it’s fun to get new stuff to try!

  2. The Thai restaurant looks amazing!!!!! We have been grilling a ton as well! Our current favourite was going to the farmers market, getting a ton of veggies and grilling them all.. Seriously, grilled carrots are the BOMB dot com!

  3. It’s great to find new places to eat, but my problem is I fall in love with new places so easily. So many places are so good and deserve repeat visits!

I’ve been drinking a lot of wine this past winter. I call it medicinal wine and we always recycle.

It’s spring here in New Zealand so I’m looking forward to warmer weather 🙂
